About Kind Yoga

Hi thanks for visiting my page. My name is Ruth, I am the face of Kind Yoga. I have been practising yoga since 2014. I took the exciting step to train as a Sensible Yoga Teacher in October 2019, this was a Somatic Yoga training, with a therapeutic focus (see link https://feelnowyoga.com ).  It was a gift, to have the space to focus, study and accept myself and my surroundings, despite the unstable climate of covid and lockdown. Yoga philosophies proved extremely helpful on and off the mat. I aim to share some with you throughout our practice together.

Weekly adult classes

Here you will find a nurturing and therapeutic style, building the strength to approach asanas in a careful way, similar to how one may attempt to build strength and awareness to navigate through life.  If you decide to join a class or workshop you will be met with acceptance and an openness for you to explore your personal yoga journey at your own pace.

Kids

The roots of Ruth’s yoga teaching is with children, which stemmed from her well established Fun Drum music sessions in Sheffield. Check out the schedule for occasional Summer Family Yoga sessions to share with your children, they are story based classes, constantly changing the shapes of the body to tell the adventure story.

"I originally started Ruth’s yoga classes as a way of having a regular session a week all for myself & I was hoping my flexibility & strength would improve too. I have gained far more than I was expecting. I have learned breathing techniques that have really helped me outside of the classes, for calming & focussing. I love that I’ve learned more about my body and ways to use it in such a way as to protect it & build strength." Tracy

"I've been aware of the benefits of yoga for a while, but I've never really thought it was for me. However, that changed when I joined one of Ruth's classes a few months ago, I have been coming along every week ever since.
As a 'new recruit' I found Ruth to be very welcoming, helpful and understanding of individuals ability. Her class is set in a very cosy welcoming place. I would strongly recommend for any one not sure - to give it a try." Martin

"I come to Kind Yoga to de-stress and centre myself, away from any of the cares of my day. I find the classes welcoming, relaxing and inclusive and Ruth makes sure the pace is adapted to each class individually. Kind Yoga has significantly improved my life as a newcomer to the village, giving me a local evening activity and new friendships along the way." Helen

“It took a couple of sessions to realise how much this slowed-down, thoughtful practice was benefitting me but I always come away feeling energised and refreshed.
I feel like I've learned a lot about my body and about yoga as a discipline from these classes.” Suzannah
